Made ₹43,000 in 9 hours after failing college interview
This one graduation advice helped me start my first business at 18.
At 1:00 PM, I was supposed to appear for my life’s first job interview with Deutsche Bank as the placement season was going on, on campus.
Expected Salary INR 32,500 per month, hmm…
1:40 PM and I was still in my Uber wearing a red hoodie, biting my nails, carrying 3 suitcases wondering how am I going to justify the delay, hoodie, and suitcases in an interview with a renowned German bank!
My flight from Delhi was delayed so had no other option other than going to college directly without changing or anything. I was in Delhi to launch the first-ever physical outlet for my dessert brand Wafflenation, and had a great launch. This job interview was just because my parents anyhow wanted me to get a job, as they thought wafflenation was not yet stable.
Now obviously, I was denied entry even in the interview room and my 40-minute delay made me lose an INR 32,500 per month job.
Was I sad? Well my friend, that same day by 10 PM my newly launched brand outlet crossed approximately INR 43,000 in sales.
My hard work started paying off, I got rejected for a job that was paying 32,000 in 30 days. Whereas, I not only made that but 10,000 above that in less than 9 hours! I never had to apply for another job, I never had to fight for a position for which thousands of candidates were fighting.
All of this happened just because of a simple piece of advice that my mentors shared with me when I was in college. I get so many DMs asking for advice after graduation, so I thought why don’t I share what helped me grow and break free?
I have made a quick small video, sharing the best piece of advice for college graduates, I am sure this is going to change your approach to life if implemented correctly.
You can watch the video here. Let me know in the video comments if you want more such learnings and lessons from my journey. Looking forward to know your opinion.
